At the end of September 2009, UYCEL had invested more than one million dollars into community projects and paid $288,000 in dividends to shareholders.
A cornerstone of the Community Bank® model is the return of profits to the community. Upper Yarra Community Enterprise does this by way of Community Grants and sponsorships.
Applications for Community Grants are received twice a year, closing at the end of February and August.
In broad terms a grant is defined as - Funds provided (after a formal submission to the Company) to meet the specific needs of a Not-For-Profit organisation.
